Price: This tourist route called with the romantic name " Splashing waves " , is designed to present to the lovers of nature beautiful coastline on the southern coast . It is extremely easy and takes about an hour and a half is just the beach.
The starting point of the route is Ahtopol ( Tsarevo municipality , Burgas ) - the southernmost city on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. It is situated on a rocky promontory on the shore of the place where the eastern slopes of Strandja descend to the sea . The city is located in the Natural Park "Strandja" and is one of the preferred destinations for summer tourism as there are beautiful beaches .
Ahtopol was founded about 430 BC by Athenian colonists , and quickly became a developed commercial center. It was later destroyed during the barbarian invasions and subsequently rebuilt on the orders of the Byzantine commander Agathon , who called it Agatopol . The city has a historical museum and city walls are preserved in places to a height of 8 meters. Tourists can see built in 1776 the church " Ascension " and the remains of the monastery "St. Yani " from the XII century.
The route starts in the northwest of Ahtopol and follows the curves of the coastline indented by numerous bays , headlands and peninsulas. It is also located in the Natural Park "Strandja" and is located at the eastern foot of Mount Papia ( 501 m altitude ) . Barbara boasts one of the most beautiful and clean beaches of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Except for lovers of the sea , the village is attractive and for fans of historical tourism because of the nearby peak Papia are the remains of late antique and medieval fortress. The route is very light and pleasant , suitable for all who wish to go on it, including families with small children.
