Albena Resort

Albena resort is located 12 km from Balchik, 30 km from Varna and 500 km northeast of Sofia. The beach is 5 km in length and width of 150 m. The resort is named Albena, heroine of the great Bulgarian writer Yordan Yovkov endowed with incredible beauty.

The complex features many modern hotels, located so as to overlook the beach and collect the maximum sunlight.

Albena resort is suitable for family vacations. It is relatively calm compared to the larger resorts such as Sunny Beach and Golden Sands. Only 10 km away from Albena is situated in Balchik botanical garden containing unique plants and architectural park complex palace, which was the residence of Queen Mary in the early 20 century. Albena is located close to the reserve and Balata, which is a dense forest near the river Batova.

Besides the nearby village Obrochishte its preserved fortress from Ottoman times, the village of Kranevo is also located near the resort. Plots, in addition to their fortress since Roman times, attracting tourists for its mineral springs. The coast between Albena and Kranevo is high and extremely picturesque, with steep cliffs.
