4 km northeast of Veliko Tarnovo on a high plateau overlooking the hills Tsarevets and Trapezitsa, lies the village of Arbanassi, which is a unique architectural - historical reserve. The village is very popular tourist destination because of its remarkable houses and churches with rich interior decoration, carving and mural painting. These monuments of Bulgarian art building constructed in the period 16-18 century when the settlement was in its heyday, and because of them is declared "historical settlement" with national significance. Unique Arbanassi houses are famous. Most - of them are old like Turnovo Boyar house. Two of these are reserved - Hadji pop Panayot and chorbadji George. Built entirely of stone, they are small fortresses with internal stairs. For protection from the outside have a cool stone gates - sentry for a night guard - niche (firidi).
Besides the houses are very interesting fountains with eaves - Kokonskata and shopping fountain and seven Arbanassi churches are one of the most remarkable monuments of Bulgarian art in XIV-XVIII period c. From Arbanassi we see spectacular views of hills Tsarevets and Trapezitsa that are some of the most popular cultural destinations in the country. A few kilometers away is Preobrezhenskiyat monastery. Near Arbanasi pass road Sofia-Varna. Departure for the village is located in the village Sheremetya, located 3 km. from Veliko Tarnovo in the direction of Varna. From Rouse can be reached by road through Gorna Oryahovitsa. Every half hour through the village goes public transportation to Veliko Tarnovo and Gorna Oryahovitsa. In Arbanassi there are also taxis that can take you to the major centers for 4-5 BGN
