Route Belite brezi hut - Devil`s...

The starting point of this picturesque route in the Eastern Rhodopes resort belite brezi (" White Birches"), located near Ardino, the main road between the regional centers Smolyan and Kardzhali. It consists of twenty holiday homes and lodges with a total capacity of 250 seats. It is located on the territory of the preserve created to protect only natural birch forest in the Rhodope Mountains. Research and practice show that the air in the area of the resort is very useful, especially in lung diseases and allergies. Significantly, the Ministry of Health has announced " White Birches " for the resort of national importance .

From the hut you should take the old dirt road that leads to the city Ardino. It is well recognizable, so there is no danger of losing. The transition to the city takes about an hour by walking through the beautiful soft hills of the Eastern Rhodopes. Here the route continues along the asphalt road to the village Diadovtsi, which is located 6 km to the north. Characterized by its beautiful scenery and remarkable stone architecture , currently Dyadovtsi is one of many Bulgarian villages that remain with less population and seemed destined to be completely deserted .

Grandfathers of our route continues along the road leading to the neighboring village Kroyachevo. It was here, over the Arda River, is one of the most popular infrastructure of the Ottoman era, preserved in Bulgaria - Devil's Bridge. Located ten kilometers northwest of the town of Ardino, it is located 420 meters above sea level, in a picturesque gorge, whose steep rock walls reach several hundred meters.

Devil's Bridge was built in the XVI century during the reign of Sultan Selim I (1512 - 1520 year), and is part of the road connecting the Upper Tracian Valley in the White and the Aegean Sea. It was erected on the site of an old Roman bridge. Declared a cultural monument, it has impressive length of 56 meters. Wide three feet tall, has three arches of which the central is 12 meters high. Aside from a low stone ledge (12 centimeters), the bridge has no railings, which is completely normal for the era in which it was built .

Close to the newly built recreation areas, shelters and picnic areas. The road from Ardino there is asphalt. Devil's Bridge is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the Eastern Rhodopes.
