Beli Iskar Eco trail

Ecopath "Beli Iskar" was established in 2003 as the main objective of building up the promotion of tourism and the creation of conditions the public to experience the magnificent scenery of the National Park "Rila" . It meanders along the banks of the eponymous river , covering her entire upper watershed .

The total length of the eco-trail is about 7 miles away and drop between the lowest ( 1215 ) and the highest ( 1528 m ) it is accurate relatively small . This allows the route , starting at the border of the National Park "Rila" to be passed by inexperienced hikers and even small children. The total duration of the transition period is about 3 hours .

The path "Beli Iskar" is selected, no accident - it seems to be designed to show visitors a representative sample of the most specific Rila natural forms and formations - narrow gorges, rocky riverside landscape , pine trees , whimsical stone sculptures of wind and water . Above still small and lush Beli Iskar pass a total of 13 large and small wooden bridges , discovering breathtaking views of the bed and the surrounding pinnacles .

The path has a closed character. It reaches its highest accurate, which is built playground offering exciting panorama of majestic mountains , then down to the starting point. Numerous signs placed near the recreation rooms and other convenient locations offer tourists useful and interesting information about the area, its flora and fauna .

Of plant life in this part of Rila greatest interest are the yew , juniper bush , white fir and deciduous tree species such as strawberry, smelly yarrow , thyme, bilberry , geranium , aspen, hazel and sallow ( kind of mountain willow ) . Of course, picking herbs and picking any kind of plants on the territory of the national park is strictly prohibited. Among animals , they can be observed brown bear , wolf, golden eagle, chamois, marten , wild boar and deer .

From the panoramic site of the highest point of the trail offers excellent views of all the tributaries of the Beli Iskar, giving their names and the surrounding Rila shares - Pastrumski Dol, Dol Jeremiah , Upper and Lower Rusk ... Inexperienced travelers can reach the point of eco-trail with their cars . The route were built total of 5 places for rest. They are located in the areas of Lake , Stone, Sredorek , Geranium and The house .
