The route of the trail " Vedernik " is relatively heavy. Drop between the lowest and the highest point is less than 600 meters and the length of the passage of the route is about 8 hours. Therefore to transition should be approached with due caution , especially when it comes to groups including young children or beginner tourists.

If you feel that you need , do not hesitate to hire an authorized guide to ensure you will have the desired experience without risking to get into unpleasant and even dangerous situation. The path starts at the Tourist Information Centre in Belogradchik and reaches the castle fortress - one of the best preserved in Bulgaria in general. Hence there is a spectacular view of the city , the rock formations in the suburbs , and West Stara Planina .

After enjoying the view, continue on the path to a well designed site Razkrasye which again offers tourists excellent view of the most impressive parts of the rocks . Next stop is in place pinkinat Ivanov stone where organized nice places to rest. Needless to say again that here there are fabulous views in all directions.

The route continues to the next panoramic place called chairs where you can relax under the shade of a group of ancient cures (Quercus ceris), to gather strength for perhaps the most tiring part of the eco-trail - climbing Mount Vedernik . Prepare for relatively serious challenge , especially if you are not adequately prepared physically , but be sure that the result will be worth it. You will enjoy the tranquility and oneness with nature and will once again get a chance to see incredibly beautiful high- end Belogradchik .

It is important to know that the adventure is not yet over and Vedernik should not be returned by the route already traveled and continue bravely . After disembarking from the top you will find yourself in the area soared , where in the past at one of the widespread in northwestern Bulgaria stone crosses known as vows or "podkrastove" . It is assumed that they are a legacy from pagan times and mark sacred places where people gather to celebrate major holidays.
