Route Bistrica - Lower Karkum area

This route has a starting point Bistrica village . It is located near Sofia, which greatly facilitates the movement until the beginning of the track , as the center of the village there are several regular bus lines from the capital. The transition is relatively heavy, as there is a serious displacement (850 meters) , but if there is good weather and good equipment is a real pleasure for every relatively well trained mountaineer . The abundance of beautiful scenery is impressive , and in clear days, almost all along the trail is lit by the sun.

From the center of Bistrica is heading west to the suburbs along "Stefan Stambolov" street. Even before you reach the end of the village , however , turn right along "Cherni vruh" street and one hundred meters after the turn goes to the left between the villas . After another one hundred meters begins alley that leads right through the forest . A little way up the driveway crosses a steep dirt road and take on it.

Now you can relax , because circling of Bistrica mysteries ended and we are in the beginning of the true hiking . After a few minutes the dirt road crosses the low path and circumferential slope quickly began to rise. The road follows Kovachev dol right and then a steep climb up to a small spring . Here you can relax and stock up with water. The slope decreases and the track gradually climbs to inclined southeast meadow in Gyolovete , which reaches the crest of the hill Katunishte .

Direction of travel is changed continually the track as follows grassy ridge plateau . From the unique views - right left homonymous peak Katunishte and forward faces the mighty wall of Reznyovete ( highest point Mount Big Rezen - 2277 m altitude ) . To the south you are Small and Large Kupen ( respectively 1650 m and 1930 m ) , see a few deep carved river valleys and beautiful pine forests.

Actualy in such forrest goes the path and soon going to climb to the alpine meadow Pogledets in the northern part of which is the eponymous holiday house ( 1677 m ) . The ultimate goal is already close . After more of spruce trees out in the region Lower Karkam where the route joins the coming of Bistrica village , but en route to the hut " Aleko " path. The total length of the transition period is approximately 2 hours.
