Duhlata Cave

Duhlata is the longest cave in Bulgaria - total length of over 18km. Located in the southwestern part of the Vitosha Mountain, near the village Bosnek, Pernik municipality. Is a complex cave system on six floors with multiple inputs. The name of the cave comes from the sound produced at the entrance to her wind

It is now run seven underground rivers that are most likely related to the Struma. They collect water and go in karst spring "top fountain."

Duhlata cave has 6 levels and many rooms with incredibly beautiful limestone formations and lakes filled with secondary karst formations and narrow, tortuous passages to bridge between them. The cave is extremely rich in secondary formations. Access is only possible with an experienced guide and after appropriate training. Labyrinth nature of the cave makes it dangerous for unprepared tourists.

In the cave live animals of 22 species, 6 of which - bats.

To prevent the destruction of rare and fragile formations, the entrance of the cave is closed. The cave is not accessible to tourists. It comes only with a guide and special equipment after preconditioning.
