Mandra lake , called in the past Mandrenko Lake is one of the largest dams in Bulgaria . Located south of Bourgas and until 1963 was a natural brackish coastal lake. Some of the old names for the dam are Kyorfes , Ahrensliysko swamp, Yazekliysko lake. In 1963 was built the dam that makes the majority of lake freshwater lake and its area increased almost four times . It is the southernmost and largest of the four lakes forming the Bourgas Lake Complex and its area reached 1,300 hectares with a length of 8 km and a width of up to 1.3 miles.
