Ecopath Charkovo - Potoka - Ezer...

Eco-trail is located entirely within the Nature Park "Bulgarian " in the Balkan Mountains and passes through a beautiful area. Length of the route is a little over 10 km. The starting point is the village Charkovo ( Gabrovo Municipality ) . The village is located three kilometers from the architectural and ethnographic complex "Etara" and is characterized by its beautiful Renaissance architecture and numerous monuments of that era when highly developed craftsmanship and trade . In the XIX century there was established the first workshop braids in Bulgaria . In its present form it is formed in 1951 when two hut settlements Vlasovtsi and Charkovete are merged into one administrative unit.

In the first nearly three km route follows the asphalt road to the village stream , and two jobs are shaped resting places with fountains, wooden tables and benches. Then going into the village Potok, where (for big fountain ) is also built recreation , like the previous ones. Nearby you can see the authentic trough for washing blankets and carpets, and mill of the type that are over 300 years old .

After leaving the confines of the Potok, eco passes quarry and climbs gently to the village Ezeroto. This beautiful meadows , which are marvelous panoramic views, alternate with shady forests. Pass through Tarkulskoto area where in the past has evolved primitive mining , which is terminated in the 30s of the twentieth century. In a sheltered area is located shelter with masonry fireplace and alcove " Belchevi mini " which is being supported by local hunting party . Nearby are the sources of the Siwek river that passes through Etara - city-museum and drives his water facilities.

Village Ezeroto is the terminus of eco. It is small, huddled between the folds of the Central Balkan . It is located 816 meters above sea level , near the Shipka Pass and the peaks and Buzludja Stoletov . In the vicinity there is a small swampy pond where probably derives its name. Covered with deciduous forests, mighty mountain peaks are home to herbs, berries and edible mushrooms , as well as many wild animals - deer, wolf , fox, rabbit and more.

Eco is easy to move , suitable for the transition from early spring to late autumn. If you take the trip on it, you will not regret , because natural and historical sites along its literally lining up one after another.
