Chepelare is a preferred destination for rural and eco tourism, and of course is also a great choice for lovers of winter sports. The city is located in the central part of the Rhodopes, about 70 km from Plovdiv and only 10 km away is located the resort Pamporovo.
Chepelare is known as one of the Bulgarian winter resorts. Chepelare Ski Center is located immediately after the end of the city on the way to Pamporovo. The city has a long tradition in ski sport. The ski slopes and the ski paths of the Center are long 20 km. The tracks vary in length and difficulty and are suitable for both advanced and beginner skiers and snowboarders. All runways are equipped with free wireless Internet access. Available for skiers is a four-seat ski lift, which covered the distance of 2700 m from the starting point of the station in Chepelare to the Mechi Chal peak for 9 minutes.
