Price: Mount Martynova chuka is located in the highest part of WSP - Chiprovska Mountain. With its 2,026 m altitude , it is one of the highest peaks in this part of the mountains, with peaks Midzhur ( 2,168 m ) and Kopren ( 2,118 m ) . Chiprovski share is not very popular, but impresses guests with its uniqueness and natural idyll. Proudly nestled between towering mountain peaks Midzor, Martinova chuka, Vraja glava and Kopren, you will see Chiprovtsi - settlement founded in Thracian times . Even today there are subtle weave carpets.
The name of the peak Martynova chuka is part of the history of the area. In the valley of the River Gabrovnitza in the Balkan Mountains, east of Vratsa Balkan monastery is situated "Seven Thrones" . It is located 86 km east of the capital Sofia and 50 km away from Vratsa. History shows that probably built during the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. During the Ottoman rule the monastery was controled by chieftain pop Martin. He had disciples , among which was Valchan Chieftain . Valchan like a kid was a shepherd , but matured , became a rebel and became the terror of the Turks. It is in honor of the pop Martin in 1935 at the proposal of Alexander Chubriev has immortalized his name - he was named after Mount Martynova chuka.
In 2011the volunteers built a tourist shelter to use free of all tourists . The purpose of the shelter is to facilitate the ascent of the highest peak in Western mountain - Mt Midzhur . From it one day calmly can climb to the top and go back . From the shelter , called " Martinitsa " easy access to the cabin Kopren and all settlements in the region : Martinovo village , city Chiprovci, village of Dolni Lom, village Kopilovtsi, Gorna Luka, village Prevala , Dolni Lom village Jelezna, and also Chiprovtzi monastery. If you go by the village Martinovo for about two hours , you will reach the peak Martynova chuka.
Curious sight on the lower slopes and shelter " Martinitsa " 40-50 feet right of the currently available time is the old Roman road . It is covered with stone , but because of its lush vegetation , it is hard to find.
