House -museum " Penyo Penev" in Dimitrovgrad is an act of love, gratitude and sincerely reverence for one of the most dramatic and provocative personalities in Bulgarian poetry of the 50 's rockers twentieth century that the works honorably earned the honor of being "the voice and conscience of the age ." The beginning of its creation can be considered 1964, when following the decision of the Plenum of the CC of the BCP - Dimitrovgrad of 25 June 1963, at the Museum of socialist construction in Dimitrovgrad an exhibition " Penyo Penev ", which in May 1969 grew into a permanent exhibition . The 1970 exhibition was moved on " D.Blagoev " № 9 in the house where the poet lived . The museum exhibition is built on a chronological basis , following CV P.Penev . Expositional plan ends with a room that inhabited the family of the poet. The exhibition covers an area 171 square meters , which combine two apartments of an apartment block . Of these, 25 m2 are storage areas . Beyond specific museum activities - collecting and popularizing - is held mass cultural activities / exhibitions , competitions , literary meetings, pilgrimages , discussions, conferences , shows, anniversary celebrations , etc. / . Initiated by the museum staff museum has its own journals / poetry books , pamphlets , collections, anniversary newspapers , documentary films and recordings / as promotional materials. The museum is co-organizer of Dimitrovgrad days of poetry "P. Penev " held in two years without interruption since 1970.
