Route Ethnographic House - Churc...

The starting point of this short sightseeing route is the Ethnographic House, which is located in the center of town, on "Alen Mak" 5 near the oldest preserved to the present day Christian church called "St. George." The museum building was built in the early sixties of the XIX century by an unknown master of the mountain, so it has many features unusual architecture of Dobrudja. This makes it even more interesting for visitors, as the house combines different styles and interior treatment. 

Inside are intertwined in a very unconventional way usual for that period and our latitudes style furniture with the modern and prestigious at the time Western influence, known as "a la franga." Century after its construction the building was renovated and converted into a picturesque museum attractive place for all dobrichlii and guests. Besides the life of the rich residents of Dobrich, museum exhibits and traditional ways of crafts, tools and artifacts from the region's agriculture. 

Opening hours: Monday - Friday (May-October): 9:00 to 12:30 and 13.30 - 18.00. 

Monday - Friday (November-April): 8.00- 12:30 and 13:30 to 17:00 h .; Saturday and Sunday - by request 

Nearby is the second and final stop on the route - the church "St. George", located a few dozen meters from the Ethnographic House (street "Nikola Fitcheto" 4). It is the oldest Christian church in the city and was built in 1843. Represents basilica without making it specific and unusual for the period and construction. The temple is decorated by craftsmen of the Debar School and carving is the work of one of the most famous artists of Tryavna.
