The starting point of this short and pleasant route associated with Yordan Yovkov and work is house museum dedicated to the great Bulgarian writer. It is located in the center of Dobrich, on "Major Vekilski" 18 Most notable here is the so-called Large room, recreating the authentic atmosphere of the city from the early twentieth century, when Yovkov lives, works, and even wed precisely in this home.
The house museum is small in size, neat and cozy, typical of Dobrudja architecture of the time. You keep some objects related to the life and work of Yordan Yovkov. This is particularly true for the next (and last stop on the route) destination.
It is home to a memorial to the writer, recognized as the largest Bulgarian author humanist and translated into more than forty languages. It is located on the "General Gurko" 4 and was built in 1980 to commemorate the centennial of his birth. Here is governed impressive and unique nationwide permanent museum exhibition presenting the life and work of the writer as possible to make it complete.
In House monument is restored cabinet and exposed Yovkov manuscripts, books, documents, photographs and other personal belongings of the artist. Thus, visitors can learn about in detail with his life and work and get really full-blooded picture of one of the best and popular even today Bulgarian writers. Incidentally in the same building is covered and a small exhibition on Dora Gabe, another of the most popular and beloved Bulgarian authors.
Home Memorial of Yordan Yovkov gaining more popularity every year is visited by thousands of both Bulgarian and foreign tourists. This is one of the main reasons to be involved in the Hundred national tourist sites.
