Price: The starting point of the trail "Via Ferrata" is Dryanovski monastery "St. Archangel Michael . " It starts from a small wooden bridge over the river Dryanovska , which is accessible through the door on the right side of the monastery church . After passing the bridge , you will find yourself in a large meadow , where you should turn left.
The monastery is located about 5 km southwest of Draynovo . The monastery was founded by Tsar Kaloyan (1197-1207) , a place that is steeped in history. According to legend, during the transfer of the relics of Saint Soldier of Potuka in Tsarevgrad Tarnovo procession benighted in the area where the monastery is located .
It was believed that the relics should not stay away from the light and so is the launch of the monastery. In Bacho Kiro cave , located just a few hundred meters from Dryanovski monastery were discovered some of the oldest remnants of human presence in the Balkans.
Eco path "Via Ferrata" follows the railway line that runs adjacent to the monastery, then continued along the river Dryanovska . In the area of Blue Pool it deviates from the bed and went to the top of the rock , located east of the monastery. Hence the route turns to the plateau Strinava on rocky path . Here can be seen the ruins of a Roman fortress town and pestle .
The route descends through pretty dense forest to the site of the monastery vineyard and ends in front of the monastery Dryanovski , describing a closed circle. When lucky nature lovers can see rare species of fauna and flowers , herbs, mushrooms and majestic trees are literally everywhere. The plateau Strinava detected remarkable tributes to the monastery and the town.
Eco trail can be traveled for about two hours. It does not provide extreme or dangerous areas , so it is suitable for experienced hikers, and beginners tourists. However, the sights you can see , passing by "Via Ferrata", are many.
