Skakavitsa hut

Hut " Skakavitsa " is the first hut in Bulgaria . It was built in the period 1921-1922 , from tourists and members of the Tourist Association of Dupnica .

Located in the " Big Skakavitsa " in " Skakavitsa Valley" at the foot of the eastern slope of Mount " Kabul ", which is in the northwestern part of the Rila Mountain at 1,876 meters altitude.

A three-storey building Approximate 80 seats in bedrooms with two, three , four and five beds with floor bathrooms . The hut is water and electricity from hydro and aggregate . Heating is done by solid fuel stoves . Common rooms available are tourist kitchen , dining room, bar and ski storage . Near the chalet has a ski - slope , equipped with a lift and playground.

Starting point for a chalet is holiday resort " Panichiste ." When traveling by car passing through the Green Preslap . From there to the hut " Skakavitsa " distance is approximately 1.00 hours on the trail that follows the river " Skakavitsa " and goes up steeply .

In the absence of any private transport provided by Dupnica to holiday village " Panichiste " in the hours 09:05 and 13:50 in the opposite direction respectively 14:30 and 17:30.

The hut is number 29 in the booklet of the SIP " 100 National Tourist Sites - Know the Motherland."
