Emen Canyon

Emen village near Veliko Tarnovo is situated in the picturesque skirts of the region of 20 km. west of Veliko Turnovo and 8 km. from the highway Sofia-Veliko Tarnovo. The path is beginning at the northeastern end of the village of Emmen. Emen canyon is launching an eco-trail that begins and ends with the cave with fabulous waterfall "Momin Skok" River Nigovanka. Negovanca Eco trail is the first built in Bulgaria. In 1980 Emen Canyon was declared a protected area. Built into the rocks of the gorge stairs and bridges facilitate those wishing to learn about the beauty of the area. From the places provided for picnic is a wonderful view over the valley. At the end of the canyon is Momin Skok waterfall with a height of 10 m below it forms a beautiful pool, which is often used for swimming. Canyon Lake with a 2 km long and starts directly from the end houses of the village of Emen continuing in a northeasterly direction. Canyon itself is 950 meters long, with most attractive part and in Michalski land. At the beginning of the canyon reveal the entrance to the cave Emen related to the surface with natural entrance and elevator shaft. The limited surface area and volume of the lake "Negovanka" is a peculiar attraction to the canyon as seen from many positions, is seen as a natural mountain lake located in a sheltered, wooded, deep hollow surrounded by rocks. Emen Canyon reveals all its beauty in spring when the river is deepest, and nature is fresh and welcoming.
