Price: Ecopath " Lilacs - Debel dyal" is located in the Gabrovo Balkan . Has a length of 7 km and the route it takes about an hour and a half. The transition starts from the resort area of Lilacs , located 15 km from Gabrovo and reaches the place of death of the brother of Hadji Dimitar - Todor Asenov near the village of Debel dyal ( Gabrovo Municipality ), where his monument was built . The area is very scenic as it is marvelous panoramic views of the central ridge of Stara Planina , and nature is well preserved , with fresh air , plenty of historical and ethnographic sites, monuments , architectural reserves and complexes .
The path passes through varied terrain , there are some fairly steep climbs and places that should be approached with caution , but is generally easily negotiable and suitable for groups with small children and beginners tourists. Transition can take place in any part of the spring, summer and autumn. It is possible in the winter , as long as tourists have to prepare adequately and to comply with the undertaking weather conditions and available equipment.
The area is very picturesque , characterized by beautiful mixed forests, which grow many herbs , flowers and edible mushrooms . Here inhabit all characteristic of the Balkan range species - foxes , deer , wolves, dormice , squirrels , badgers , martens , etc. . Along the route there are a number of places where a panoramic view of the surrounding attractions .
Debel dyal village located close to the end point on the route is known as the birthplace of Bulgarian Martyr Lalyo Debeldyalski , who was killed in the early XIX century in Asia Minor for refusing to replace the orthodoxy of Islam. Unfortunately, this beautiful village is connected with another tragic moment in Bulgarian history. In the nearby area Zelenikovets was caught and killed by a posse already mentioned 24 -year-old brother of Stephen Karadza - Todor Asenov , who previously was wounded in the heavy battle led by the band in the area Kanladere ( Bloody River ) , Sevlievo .
