Price: The starting point of this route is located in the eponymous area in Shipka part of the Central Balkan Mountain hut "Usana" ( 1240 m altitude ) . It is a massive three-storey building with a spacious dining room and large terrace offering excellent views to the geographical center of Bulgaria and Ispolin peak( 1524 m ) .
The route leads to the west of the hut and follows Route E-3 ( Kom - Emine ) . At first, it moves along the road to the hut , and the path for " Mazalat " is released on the left , just before the asphalt road to reach the mountain rescue service . The trail is well marked and recognizable red markings.
The trail climbs gently sloping to Black Peak ( 1360 m ) and then gently slopes and out of the hotel "Hlebna". Hence continues to hut " Partisan Song" and the foot of Mount Korita ( 1492 m ) , where they built a fountain and relaxation area . This section represents some difficulty for the inexperienced hikers as it is transformed into a clearing and at some places may be lost.
The trail continues along the winter mark passing through the saddle on the north side of Mount Korita and out to the highest point. Summer marks shortcuts both him and the next peak Buhala. Then the path out of the dirt road connecting Lagat with " Mazalat ." On it to the hut takes approximately 20 minutes with a normal move.
The track is relatively complicated and requires extensive experience in mountain tourism , although not particularly high degree of difficulty. Caution transition should be undertaken in winter and low visibility.
" Mazalat " is one of the most iconic and popular huts main Stara Planina ridge . It is located in Mandrishteto and can be used as a starting point for huts " Taja " ( 4:00 ) " Sokolna '(4 and a half hours ) and shelter "Great Kademlia" ( 3:00 ) .
The distance between the huts "Usana" and " Mazalat " is traveling approximately 4 hours . The transition offers plenty of beautiful views of the impressive ridge of the Balkan Mountain.
