The starting point of this route is the Stara Planina tourist hut "Usana" ( 1240 m altitude ) . It is located in the eponymous area known as the geographical center of Bulgaria and is a large alpine meadow used in the past for grazing cattle .
" Usana " is a three-storey chalet , built at the foot of the Shipka peak of Stara Planina Ispolin ( 1524 m ) . It has a spacious dining room and a large terrace from which there are beautiful views of the surrounding area . Starting point for the lodge is a city of Gabrovo, located 22 kilometers and connected to it by an asphalt road.
The route starts from " Usana" and sloping down to the big bend , leading to conversion of buses . It is at this point deviates marked trail to the village Yasenovo that turns left . The mark is blue and the track - easily recognizable .
The trail descends gradually , and in the majority of time moves along hewn into the mountainside bed flow Uzundere . At the place where it flows into the river Leshnitsa was built Karkelanov bridge. After that the route turns left and continues on the road coming from the area of foot. From the village Yasenovo path follows the river bed of Leshnitsa.
Between hut "Usana" and Yasenovo village has another route , more scenic , but much more difficult to track. It shortcuts Ispolin passing through the area Karamandra . From there, the route bypasses the summit from the east is drawn to the area Three graves. Then moves the foot of Mount Ostrusha ( Chifut, 1442 m ) and descends to a junction . If you go here in the yellow marking will reach the village Sheinovo. Green leads to the final point of the route , village Yasenovo following Kazalanskoto rip the so -called Himitliyska Trail (former name of the village , which was Himitli ) .
Yasenovo is about 5 km in a straight line from Usana . Located at the southern foot of the Balkan Mountains , in the municipality Kaznlak , Stara Zagora. The route is relatively easy , travels for approximately 5 hours.
