Toplya Cave

Toplya cave is located near the mountain village Golyama Jelyazna. Starting point to go to it 's Sopot dam along the river Toplya. The cave is situated deep in the rocks on the western base of heifers . Long is 286 meters wide her 6-10 -meter start tapering at the rear end and ends with crack in the rock. Inside the cave , 40 m after the entrance becomes equal in lateral oblique and passes in a shallow valley out - right side of the cave wall. Its ceiling is almost entirely uniform . The average altitude is 610 m, only 1 meter divides into two - front and rear compartment , and the front is shorter and wider , but to a person from one to the other , you need to crawl. The cave is one of the protected areas of the country. Penetration it is prohibited between 1 June and 31 July - breeding period of bats.

The water in the cave is warm and equally cold head and the secondary opening in summer and in winter 10 degrees. Winter spring water does not freeze and snow around it melts . The water is quite warm / 10 degrees on Jan. 29, 1901 / . Hence the name of the cave ... Toplya (warm).

Currently of great interest is lake " Sopot ", which offers good conditions for fishing and water sports.
