Mutorok peak

Mutorok peak is the third highest peak in South Pirin . Situated on the main mountain ridge southeast of Mount Ears . The name of the top acting as Motorok and Motorog and its meaning , according to some research, comes from the phrase " Matoran forests ", which means old , large trees. According to another analysis could mean snow peak snow ridge.

Mutorok peak is 1970.5 meters high , 7 cm less than the highest peak in the southern part of Pirin mountain -top ears . This part of the mountain is not very popular, although it is not the beauty and diversity of flora and fauna. The region is home to a variety of wildlife. In the dense beech forests roam wild boar , deer, bears, wolves , foxes , rabbits , squirrels , badgers and wild cats. On the high peaks and Candlestick Mutorok are nested black eagles, gray, black vultures and falcons . Lower- live grouse , rock partridge and grouse .

South of Mutorok mountain ridge descends sharply , reaching Koynare area . In northeastern direction ridge that ends with high peak chukar . West slopes descend to the deep valley of Koynarska River and east is the area Mlaka . The tip is coated with cinnamon soils and is overgrown with pine trees , mostly white pine .

Starting point for climbing Mount Mutorok is Popovi meadows. The area is 4-5 sunny meadows , surrounded on all sides by pine forest . By Popov meadows you can start climbing and peak Orelyak - (2 hours) and peak Candlestick (2 hours and 30 minutes) , and to take a few hiking hut - Raspberry (5 hours and 30 minutes) , Pirin Chalet ( 7 hours) , hut Slavianka (5 hours ) and Parilska saddle , place of death of Yane Sandanski village Teshovo , Villag quarter average of Gotse Delchev.

In the nearby village to the top Toshevo will encounter interesting historical sights . There is preserved medieval stone tower, which was declared a cultural monument. More interest is the "St. Demetrius ' and clock tower , which beats every hour for more than 100 years.

Available to hikers around Mount Mutorok are several huts - Spring , Raspberry , Pirin, Popov meadows and Slavianka .
