Govedartsi resort

The village of Govedartsi is one amazing piece of Bulgarian, located 20 km from the famous ski resort of Borovets. The village is located in the central part of the Rila Mountain, on the right side of the ISKAR River and is the starting point of the classic routes-top Musala, the seven RILA Lakes, peak Mechit chalet, Lake Jonchevo, Urdini Lakes and many huts.

Many people prefer to stay in Govedartsi during his winter break to avoid crowds of tourists in the mountain resort of Borovets. This gives a chance for visitors to take advantage of the modern and well equipped ski runs in Borovets, but then can enjoy complete peace and quiet in Govedartsi and fully relax after active sports.

The terrain around Govedartsi is extremely suitable for hiking and mountain biking, off road, sport climbing, picnics, interesting itineraries for lovers of history and archeology.

Only 2 km away. from Govedartsi has built ski route with a length of 1.5 km. The track is located near the Mechit Chalet. Equipped with tow Pomagalski, which is 1300 m long and a children's lift to 250 m. length. The track features a ski wardrobe, from which you can pick up your equipment rental. There is also a tearoom offering wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding area. The village has a total of three ski runs that are serviced by a few drags and treated with a special technique. Interesting for consideration are the places Izvorovo and Metchkaritsa, where they found ancient historical monuments, churches and chapels.

During the summer months, here you can find comfort and coolness, in the beautiful pine forests of Rila, and during the winter to enjoy the sparkling white ski slopes. In the lush waters of the Cherni ISKAR and its numerous mountain tributaries fishing fans can try their luck and enjoy the taste of fresh trout.

Every year the village is traditionally held synods, associated with Christian holidays, such as the mass are St George's day, held on monastery St. George, Theodore-make horse racing, St. Trinity — the official gathering of the village. Also, every year on midsummer Eve traditionally bathed in lush mountain River all maids and young brides.
