The foundations of the modern park in Haskovo - City garden are placed at the end of the 19th century. In 1910 his son Gyula (orphan of Hungarian origin), which is now a Bulgarian citizen - George Penchev back in Haskovo, to finish started by his father. It extends the area of the park and she reached up to 41 acres. Large-sized trees are planted. At that time created the garden to the theater, the park "Mercier" and "European Park."

In 2011 it started a complete renovation of Central Park. On November 21, 2011 has opened completely new Haskovo city garden.
