The home of Jordan Yovkov in Jeravna an exhibition dedicated to the great Bulgarian writer. In 1957 the house was converted into a museum, and in 1978 was declared an architectural monument. In the lower oak building a "ground Kamchia Zheravna house" in the neighborhood "Large hill" are personal items and family of Jordan Yovkov, photo documents, original manuscripts and first editions of the rich artistic heritage of the writer. The exhibition is focused on the creativity of the writer and his relationship with the nature of the Kotel. Several things impress here and among them are: a reconstruction of the first meeting between the Rada and Shibil, gathered a collection of works of the writer and pen with which he wrote "Balkan legends." In the yard of the home of the writer has his monument. The courtyard filled with greenery, is a monument, which Yovkov is depicted sitting on a chair and lost in thought.
Most of the writer's life passes in Dobrodja, where he worked as a teacher, but his childhood and teenage years, he Jeravna home. Later he took part in three wars: Balkan Wars and the First World War. Experienced in the wars in numerous documentary tells essays and short stories.
Yovkov his career began as a poet, but his short stories brought him fame of a great master. Written in the last years of the life of the writer collections "Evenings at Antimovo Khan", "Balkan Legends" and "If they could speak," along with the novel "Farm near the border" deep imprint in Bulgarian literature. Translated into more than 20 languages Yovkov is known beyond the borders of our country.
