of Vasil Levski

Museum of Vasil Levski in his hometown of Karlovo has more than 70 years history. Origins is associated with restoration of native house of the Apostle in 1933 and its opening as a museum in 1937. The museum complex includes: Native House of Vasil Levski, Memorialen chapel of "All Saints Bulgarian"; Chardaklieva house museum exhibition; Memorial Gina Kuncheva - the mother of Levski. Here are kept almost all scientific research and biographical literature devoted to the Apostle, works of art, many documents and photographs tracing the activities of public organizations dedicated its activities to the perpetuation deed. The birthplace of Vasil Levski is located in the western part of Karlovo. It is from the early period of the Renaissance. It was built in the 18 century from Kuncho Ivanov, grandfather of Levski and then here lived his two sons John and Valyo Kunchevi.

The house is a small one-storey building. Stone stairs lead into the cellar room, a build off the ground. Left of the staircase has a closet without a window box with flour, kneading trough and other containers. To the right is hiding. Before him, the wall was built in cupboard, which inner wall is a wooden door, plastered with lime. In the cupboard ranks rugs folded to close the door of the shelter itself. Upstairs the house has two rooms. In one of them theowners were spending the nights in the summer and the other was the living room. Next to it is attached workshop - low building consisting of a room in which braid knitting and semi-dye. The temple near the home of the Apostle kept a precious memory of him - part of his hair, provided by the National Military History Museum. In Chardaklievata house (where the Apostle aunt lived) are accepted museum visitors, sold postcards, souvenirs, science and fiction of Vasil Levski and Karlovo. There chamber hall for temporary exhibitions.
