Waterfall Skoka - Kashina village

Waterfall "Skoka" is one of the largest, most beautiful and odd sights in South Pirin Mountain. It is known among locals as "jump" because the wild waters of the river after his tame impetuous rush of the Pirin mountain meadow in the Raven scale meteoric suddenly make a jump and fly with incredible power in the twenty meter deep abyss.

The noise of falling water flow away in space echoes like thunder and the storm of the past. Hitting rocks lush water waves spread in fine white mist and moisturize and ozonized environmental expanse. Locals call it "Our little Niagara."

Kashina people believe that breaths moist air around the waterfall, mixed with the scent of geranium, marjoram and thyme, gives strength to the weary, sad and glad to help patients forget the pain and suffering.

The waters of the waterfall are very cold. The river is not suitable for bathing. Yet, every summer there are brave men who want to refresh in the clean and transparent water of Kashina Waterfall and hide from the summer heat.

Kashin is located 30 km northeast of the municipal center of Sandanski, 15 km from Melnik and 10 km from the Rozhen Monastery. The waterfall is located about 2 km from the village of Kashina and can be reached by trail from the village, unsuitable for cars and marked with signs. Walking distance to go for about 30-40 minutes and is a great ride in the incredible scenery.
