Historical Museum Iskra Kazanlak

Historical Museum "Iskra" is among the oldest, richest and most famous regional museums in Bulgaria. It possesses more than 50,000 original artifacts reflecting the rich material and spiritual culture of the Kazanlak region. Founded in 1901

In the museum you can see the permanent exhibitions of the departments "Archaeology" `" Revival "," New History "," Nature "and" The Modern History. " Interest to tourists collections bone sickles (only in South East Europe), medieval pottery, weapons and firearms, jewelry and costumes from bits of Kazanlak in the past.

The new vault room are at the newest gold, silver and armor-zovi finds from Thracian tombs, temples in the region. The museum "Iskra" offered lectures (5 lev) and the multimedia room to screen movies showing moments of excavations and archaeological discoveries in the region. It also offered demonstrations of rituals associated with the Rose Festival and the production of rose oil. Upon request specialist archaeologist will show you around the tombs near the town of Shipka. The museum has a souvenir shop.
