Historical Museum Klisura

The building, which houses the Historical Museum Klisura, was built in 1925-1926 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the April Uprising against Ottoman rule. For 30 years the townspeople gather money for the construction of the building to keep the memories of the April Uprising. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the uprising in 1976 opened a new library building and the museum was moved to one of its halls.

Today the collections of the Historical Museum are located on several floors of the building. The most valuable exhibit of the museum is the original bell, which on April 20, 1876 has announced the April Uprising. The entire second floor of the museum tells Klisura participation in the uprising. Exhibited clothes, weapons of the rebels, a copy of the flag of the rebels. Some of the exhibits are related with the resonance of the April uprising in Europe and the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878, which is part of the liberation of Bulgaria. In the basement of the museum has arranged a small art exhibition with paintings of famous Bulgarian artists. The paintings are original and are associated with national liberation movement against the Ottoman rule of the XIX century

Another part of the exhibition presents livelihoods Klissura - rose production, animal husbandry, and the development of education in the city.

Part of the Historical Museum are Pavurdjievata, Chervenakova and Kozinarovata house. In Pavurdjievata house which is located in front of the museum, has been restored home rose oil. In the yard of the house is Kozinarovata well, which Tsana Kozinarova throws with four children not to fall alive into the hands of the Ottomans. Chervenakova house is the first house reconstructed after the burning of the city in which they met Russian liberators.

The houses have a fixed week, but the museum curators are always open for a visit to the interest of the tourists. Entry fees for adults are two BGN, while the museum houses a 1 BGN offered lectures in Bulgarian - 5 BGN
