Koprinka Dam is one of the many beautiful Bulgarian reservoirs located in the Valley of Roses, only 7 km from the town of Kazanlak. 20-kilometer length sleeves and numerous large quiet bays are truly a beautiful sight that deserves to be seen.
The waters of the lake offer wonderful opportunities for vacations, camping, picnics, walks, water sports and sunbathing. Fishing lovers will enjoy the wide variety of fish here.
During the construction of the dam Koprinka is excavated and fully studied Thracian town Sevtopolis. Sevtopolis most famous underwater in Bulgarian archeology - the only completely studied Thracian town on the Bulgarian territory. It is not only unique archaeological and historical site, but also a treasure trove of data for the everyday life of the Thracians. The city was discovered and explored between 1948 and 1954 during the construction of the dam. He is fully filmed and studied before to stay at the bottom of the dam.
The proximity of the dam near Kazanlak attracts many people to come and relax on the shores of the lake. There are a variety of water attractions to entertain visitors Koprinka. The dam is a beautiful stone masonry structure with a paved walkway on it. Around the walls there are many restaurants and hotels that offer fresh and delicious fish dishes.
At the west end of the lake is "St. Athanasius' which is dilapidated and is often covered with water, the church is visited by many photographers.
