Price: Dark Forest Nature Reserve is located 20 km. northeast of the village, the Dubrava in the Western Rhodopes , at 1500-1700 m altitude . Covers the upper reaches of the Kanina the territory of the " Beslet ." Area of the reserve is 30.2 ha , and since 1999 has maintained the status of a reserve.
Dark Forest is a typical forest reserve . In the lower parts of the reserve grow mainly beech and fir trees, while the higher are spruce forests. The average age of the forests over 150 years old. Within the reserve are 92 distinct plant species, among which are found endemic and endangered species, and 119 species of vertebrates with national, European and global significance. Mammals special interest are the deer, marten , hazel dormouse , and the birds black stork , golden eagle , capercaillie . Among invertebrate conservation importance occurring alpine rose and forest ant.
Visitors can explore the village, the which has preserved its authentic appearance of 18-19 century and is one of the most famous and beautiful Bulgarian villages. The houses are almost entirely made of stone, including roofs, and only at the highest top floor is made of wood . Kovatchevitsa architectural reserve and has retained its old town . Interest is the visit of the village Leshten, which is quite recent and current favorite among lovers of rural tourism. 5 km from Leshten is Ognianovo spa resort which has many pools and spa hotels. Nearby are other interesting landmarks . These are rock formations " Goat Stone" and "Black Rock ." They were declared a landmark in 1976 " Goat's Stone" is located in a beautiful area with coniferous trees, an imposing granite weathered rock. Numerous properly cut holes in the rock with different magnitudes warrants scientists to believe that the rock was a Thracian sanctuary . Visits to the Dark Forest Reserve must be agreed in advance with the Ministry of Environment and Water .
