Zoo and Park Stratesh

The zoo is located in the Park "Stratesh" an area of 110 acres. It is located in the eastern part of the park and one of the most visited places in Lovech. Zoo is the second largest in Bulgaria both in size and variety of animals. It kept animals and 420 birds of 74 species, including many exotic specimens from all continents, as well as rare and endangered species from Bulgaria. The most attractive among them polar bear, Siberian tiger, lion, Amur leopard, jaguar, kangaroo, Arabian camel, brown bear, five species of monkeys, parrots and many others.

On the territory of the zoo are natural forests and well-maintained lawns and paths, a playground, making it interesting and pleasant place for leisure. Lovers of flora can meet many interesting and rare trees and plants. In Strate park is Lake, occupying an area of 2 acres. Around are formed rosarium, rockery and other beautiful places. At the site overhanging the river rock, where during the Liberation War was a Russian artillery position is White Monument.
