Sharenka Cave Museum is located in the massive marble into a deep gorge , about 2 km. by Madan . The word " Madan " is derived from " Madden kyoy " and the Turkish- Arabic means " village of ore ." Named the most largest district in Madan - square Sharenka . The cave can be reached by road, and for hikers trek has a length of about a kilometer . Sharenka is relatively small cave. Located 830 meters above sea level . The entrance diameter 1.5 m in marble rock and then 4-5 m slope leads to an underground corridor - gallery. The gallery leads to a small room that has an irregular shape with an approximate area of ​​100m. and an average height of 5 meters . The small hall leaving two narrower corridor. Archaeologists have found that the cave was operated mining , has been inhabited since the Bronze Age ( 16-12 BC )

The cave museum presents three sets - "human habitation ", " ore " and " Melting ore " with 10 pieces in natural human growth tools, as well as 24 vessels . It has been shown that it is used not only as a habitat , and also as a pit . A slit from the ceiling of the Great Hall comes to the surface of the rock terrain.

This natural chimney has played an important role not only in occupation of the cave , but to make it to the mining and smelting of iron ore during the period of Late Antiquity . Unfortunately today the ancient foundries were destroyed by treasure hunters.

A few meters from the cave lies an abandoned mine shaft , which comes about a hundred meters inside . According to local tunnels built by the Germans were in such technology that rock layers settles naturally and even after the abandonment of the galleries , they remain intact and untouched , while those built later by the Russians began to crumble soon be abandoned .

The cave is reconstructed under a joint project of Madan and Keramoti Greek community , to promote the cultural and tourist attractions of the two twin municipalities . The project are two separate tourist route with many recreational facilities.
