The house at Old Willow very successfully combines the ancient spirit of Medven with all modern amenities. The authentic old facade of the house and the interior arrangement of the rooms. Upstairs are two stylish rooms with two beds and extra bed. At guests' disposal is a tavern with a modern kitchen, fireplace and BBQ. Each room is locally heated and has a private bathroom.
Medven is a picturesque village , one of the few so carefully preserved original settlements in Bulgaria since the Renaissance , located on the southern slopes of Stara Planina , near the Renaissance town of Kotel ( 13 km ) preserved the traditions of local crafts, and authentic village Zheravna ( 14 km ), famous for its ancient architecture and numerous historical museums and churches.
The village has preserved its authentic Renaissance look and not large, only about 300 houses . Of these, 104 have been declared monuments of culture are much built more than 150 years and are amazingly well preserved. During the winter Medven live about a hundred people , and in the summer no more than 250 people .
Medven run along the picturesque river Medvenska. It rises 11 km away and is known for its fabulous waterfalls Blue Pool and Skokovete. In the Medven Balkan has beautiful caves Lednitsata and Tzarevetz. There is also a nature reserve for wild animals.
Medven is birthplace of Zahari Stoyanov, and here is his house, which is preserved in its original authentic style and is arranged as a museum. On the square stands a monument of the writer.
