Guest Houses Kandaferi 1 and Kandaferi 2 are located in the village Miikovtsi, 13 km from the town of Elena (Central Stara Planina). Located in the heart of the mountain, they are close to everyday life, customs and traditions of the Balkan as well as peace and quiet of nature. Kandaferi are all looking for new experiences and to all who have already experienced the pleasures of rural tourism. Elena Balkan summer is sunny and cool. Rivers provide conditions for swimming and meadows around them - an opportunity for camping. The meadows grow wild fruit - wild strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, mushrooms, and many herbs. On the other hand, soft, snowy winter is no less active season. The area has a ski slope and ski lift (Miikovtsi and Chumerna), and offers many opportunities for ski tours. Kandaferi 1 is newly built in traditional Bulgarian technology in a typical architectural style of Elena - the so-called "deer wooden house." The construction of the house is full of wood and stone to keep the heat in winter and coolness in summer. Kandaferi 2 is a beautiful 120 year old house that still preserves the memory of old times. Today it is restored, but the original structure and atmosphere are reserved. Both houses have central heating, restaurant, kitchen, barbecue and patio.
