Musinska cave ( Musinski karst spring ) is located right below the road when entering the village of Musina town of Veliko Tarnovo in direction Pavlikeni. To reach the entrance , however , you need to enter the village and went right through the streets to the river. It is best to cross the river and upstream on right bank street leads to the fountain at the entrance of the cave. In front of the cave there are also the remains of a water wheel , millstone and stone constructions .
Musinska cave is about 380 meters long and is fully studied and mapped by cavers . There are traces of primitive system.
The cave has two entrances. Slope is down from the entrance , about 2m. and subsequent increase of about + 5 m . , followed by another drop of 3 m to muddy trap in the main gallery .
In the depth of the cave is the " Blue Lake" ( Blue Pool ), which is also the beginning of a very dangerous trap . As legend says that at the bottom of one of the halls in the water gallery of the cave is submerged Roman gold.
Terrestrial part of the cave is inhabited by a large bat colony .
In the aqueous flow underground river that comes from tens of kilometers of faults and karst caves. There are even preserved memories that some time ago in the cave near the village Dobromirka (about 17 km in a straight line) was put straw that emerged in Musinska cave.
In the creation of the Roman town of Nicopolis ad Istrum Romans impounded the cave and built a water main aqueduct to supply fresh water to the city. Pipeline reaches razpredeliteleden water reservoir west of the city .
