The church is a real treasure for Nessebar. It was built in the so-called "painterly style". The murals are characteristic of medieval and religious architecture, but today we see only fragments of them. Located in the center of the old town of Nessebar, is best preserved church. Outside is decorated with rich architectural forms. Construction of the building relates to the XIII-XIV century. It has partly preserved bell which led to a brick wall between the pillars passing (thickness 1.20 m) separating the porch from the central part.
During excavations in the garden around the church were traces of occupation by different periods of existence of the settlement - Thracian, Greek, and early Byzantium during the Second Bulgarian Kingdom.
Exquisite architecture, perfect proportions and picturesque decoration of the facade, unfinished tower bells causes each, passed through the town square today to forget reality for a moment to respond in a truly magical world.
