Forest Park Lipnik (Tekketo)

Among the closest and favorite places in Ruse for a short rest and tourism during the second half of the 20th century, and until today, remains a forest park "Lipnik". Why is it called that way, probably everybody will easily guess - because of the presence of a huge forest of lime trees, covering an area of about 20,000 acres and is considered the largest one in Bulgaria. Lipnik Wood is known to all the local citizens as Tekke. A unique park is located a few kilometers outside the city to the village Nikolovo. Place is favorite for Saturday and Sunday walks, garden BBQ, for beer on the lake, for a walk with a water wheel, picnic, motor boats, rowing and many others.

Exceptional beauty and romantic charm brings an artificial lake turned into a kingdom of water lilies. Small wooden house in the middle of vast colonies of this amazingly beautiful plant species makes everyone feel like in the fairy tale of invisible water spirits transformed into frogs princes and magical fairies. In another part of the lake, a beautiful arched wooden bridge over the water output to the pavilion for relaxation and calming the senses contemplation of harmony and perfection reigned around. There are several pedestrian paths, each of which decides which to choose. One takes you to a small zoo, loved most of the small visitors, because they know that they will have old animals - two bears, a whole herd Going, several ornamental birds. Another path leads to the playground, fully equipped with proper wooden play equipment. Benches, dragonflies, climbing ladders, swings, hut of Baba Yaga - when games meet the space will be difficult to go from here if you have small children. All trails in the park can be combined in an excellent route for bicycling or rollerblading. During the warm days of the year over the meadows to see people - whole families came from near and far - a picnic.
