Osenovlashkо Monastery (Seven Thrones, as is known) is located in the gorge of the river Gabrovitsa, 7 km from the village Osenovlag. Monastery is 80 km away from Sofia on the way to Mezdra in Iskar Gorge and 50 km from the town of Vratsa. Legend connects the founding of the monastery Osenovlashkiya name boyar Peter Delian and revolt against Byzantine rule in 1040g. There is another legend about the creation of a monastery associated with the name "Seven Thrones". According to her monastery was founded in the 11th century from seven boyars who come from Bessarabia and settled in the mountains with their families. According to the most common beliefs of the monastery's name comes from a specific division of the church - the nave and six cross throne (chapels).
The monastery was founded in the eleventh century and the centuries of its existence was cultural and educational center - it had copied books in late eighteenth century there stayed Sophronius of Vratsa - Bulgarian clergymen and national leaders.
The oldest preserved building in the monastery is the Cathedral, which is believed to be built in the X - XI century. Over the years the church and monastery were repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt. In its present form the church there in 1815 were constructed residential and commercial buildings surrounded by ancient forests. Temple celebration of the monastery is 8 September - Nativity of Mary. At the entrance has a sign in Bulgarian and English language history of the monastery.
