Price: Botanical reserve " Ostritsa " in Golo Bardo Mountain , District Pernik, is one of the oldest protected areas in the country , announced in 1943 a national park in order to preserve valuable plant specimens of great scientific value. Area and its status is changed many times over the years. Now it is " maintained reserve " an area of 134.6 hectares , determined by the Protected Areas Act . Within the reserve can be seen various rock formations. In Ostritsa reserve on the slopes of Mount Ostritsa meet rock landslides and rock scree . Southern slopes of the reserve are almost completely covered with rocks , but in other parts of Ostritsa flora is well developed . In the protected area there are 453 plant species, of which 5 Bulgarian and 37 Balkan endemics . 16 of them are protected by the Biodiversity Act and 23 are included in the Red Book. Of particular importance are grass species that are his greatest treasure. Here are herbs specific to Europe , Asia and Africa. There are Bulgarian endemic species Urumovo tulip Bulgarian karamfilche and others. From Balkan endemic greatest interest are headed Genista species , palmate vetrogon , Reichenbach iris and many others. Due to the small area of the reserve , as well as the highly indented relief , the number of species of animals is not large. Although this is a significant number of rare animals and species that are of interest to science. Occupants are wild bees degree lizard ant Carpathian scorpion , and more. Visits for scientific and educational purposes in reserve " Ostritsa " is allowed only with written permission from the Ministry of Environment and Water. The management plan provides for visits to be carried out in groups of no more than 5 people.
