Bezbog Lake is a lake of glacial origin located in Bezbog circus , east of Bezbog peak, on the territory of Pirin Mountain. Along with three small intermittent lakes formed group Bezbog lakes. Bezbog Lake is the largest and most picturesque lake from their group with an area of 19 acres . It is situated at 2,239 meters above sea level, and its depth reaches 7 meters. Lake started the Bezbojka River - a tributary of the Mesta.

This wonderful place will captivate every tourist . On the shore of the lake is located at modern chalet in Bulgaria - "Bezbog " and above the lake rises Bezbog peak. A breathtaking view! For about 50 minutes can be reached from the hut to the summit , but you must be careful because the trail is overgrown with numerous shrubs and dwarf .

Legend tells of the origin of the name of the lake and the top - Bezbog . According to legend, in the past these areas was attacked by Turks " outrageous " massacred all the girls are washing their sails on the lake. According to another legend does god Perun had a beautiful daughter who was living near the Samodivski (Fairy) lakes. She did not go unnoticed by the god Bes , who lived in a neighboring circus and stole it for themselves. Her brother Dzhengal however intervened and decided to avenge . Bess caught god of Bezbog killed him and buried him with stones. And today, on top there is a pile of stones !

Near Bezbog lake are other very beautiful and interesting routes that you can visit - Kremen Lakes ( day route ) Priest Lake ( 1.20 h) , Mount Orlovec ( Jano ) Polejan ( 2 h). Bezbog lake is most easily reached by chairlift from Gotse Delchev .
