Mozgovishki chukar peak

One of the attractive parts of the northern part of Pirin Mountain is Mozgovishki ridge. It is quite steep and impressive . If you went to Tevno lake , you've probably noticed a hill. Most ridge part is the tip Mozgovishki chukar . He seemed to remain hidden for more tourists and hikers, as it is located at the very end of the hill and you will notice if you accidentally stray from the usual paths or does it look purposeful . In the ridge part Mozgovishki Chukar has massive piles of splintered rocks and blocks . The tip is made of granite , and its soils are dark colored mountain meadow . The slopes are rocky and steep to the north. South again are very steep , grassy - rocky . The lower parts of the slopes communities of dwarf pine. The tip has a few well-defined elevation , the highest is 2,612 meters .

North of Mozgovishki Chukar are circus Chaira and Chairski Lakes and south - Cirque Belemeto . Lakes are a group of 9 lakes and during the regeneration process is attempted to be renamed Polenski lakes. This name should not be taken by tourists and that is why to this day they are known as Chairski . Chairski lakes along the trail goes from Demyanitsa hut to hut Spano and hut Yane Sandanski . In the area of lakes in neighboring Prevalski from Chaira to place Bashliytsa this path is marked in green.

East of Mozgovishki chukar , the main mountain ridge , is located Mozgovishkata gate. This is one of many saddles in Pirin , some of which are important passages. The gate is located at 2530 meters altitude. The slopes of the two ports Mozgovishkata circus Belemeto and Prevalski are rocky and steep . Pass through the saddle path from Vihren for Tevno lake (marked in red) , summer trail from Bansko and Demianitza for Begovitsa (marked in blue ) and winter trail from Demianitza for Tevno Lake ( stake marking ) . Winter trail is secured with chains on the steep slopes of the saddle to the main ridge .

The most likely translation of the name of the peak is related to the word " mozgal mosha " which means " cow ." There is evidence that once cattle, sheep and cattle from Sandanski and Petrich each summer is grazing on the southern slopes of Rila until the first decades of the last century. Fully probably for this purpose is used in push Mozgovishka port other than people's paths. Throughout the route there is plenty of water and pasture.
