Prevalski lakes

Prevalskite Lakes lake group , located in the Pirin Mountains. They have glacial origin and are formed in Prevalski circus between peak Valyavishki chukar , chukar Prevalski peak , saddle Mozgovishka Gate Pass and saddle Prevala , in the valley of the river Demyanitsa . They are four in number. The highest lake is the smallest in the group - only 1.1 acres . Located at 2,394 meters above sea level. It flows down to the second highest lake in the group by groundwater. The second lake is located north of the former, it is its largest with an area up to 21 acres and a depth of 5.2 meters. The water volume of the third pond is 13-14 times smaller than that of the second . Located at 2,310 meters above sea level. All three lakes are drained to the fourth lake, which gives rise to Prevalska River - left tributary of the Valyavitsa .

Along Prevalskite Lakes is a tourist route , marked in blue , from hut Demyanitsa to hut Kamenica ( Begovitsa ) .
