Spanopolski Lakes

Spanopolski Lakes are a group of 11 lakes of glacial origin located in the north central part of the Pirin Mountain. Nine of them are permanent and two temporary. Are formed in the circus Big Spano and one in the circus of Little Spano . The average altitude at which they are located, is 2,350 m . In waters grow trout. Lakes originated two rivers - Spanopolska River ( Sarchaliitsa ) and Spanopolska Little River (Little Sarchaliitsa ) . Lakes in large Spano first lake is 2,451 meters above sea level and is characterized by an elongated shape - length 75 m, width 25 m and area - 1.2 acres. The biggest lake of the group is located at 2,302 meters above sea level and has a flattened shape with a length 175 m , width 120 m and area 12.6 acres. Fourth Spanopolska lake is at an altitude of 2212 m and drain water from above three lakes. It also has an elongated shape with a length of 250 m and 100 m wide area reaches 11.3 acres. Not all lakes in the group studied. Starting points for Spanopolski lakes can be " Sinanitsa " ( 3:00 ) , and chalets , Yane Sandanski " ( 2:30 ) and " Vihren " ( 4:30 ) . Near the lake is the eponymous shelter Spano pole , which is located in the circus of Little Spano . From here you can head to the following interesting tourist destinations in the Pirin Mountain : Mount Bashliyski chukar (1:30h) , Mount Banderishki chukar ( 2:00 ) , Mount Spanopolski chukar ( 1:30 ), Malkospanopolsko Lake ( 1 : 00 ), Chairski lakes ( 2:00 ), and Gergiyski lakes. From the peak Spanopolski Chukar will enjoy spectacular panoramic views Spano pole, tops Vihren, Sinanitsa , Banderishki and Bashliyski chukar .
