Pleven is located in the central part of Mizia, equidistant from the Danube river and mountain Stara Planina. Even today the city of Pleven has kept its cultural and historical heritage and is therefore known as a city of museums. The earliest traces of life and human activities on these lands belong to the end of the fifth millennium BC About 200 monuments remind to the battles that were fought in these places. In the center of the city's Square Vazrajdane 5-Mausoleum is the tomb of Russian and Romanian soldiers killed during the Russo-Turkish War. Another attraction is the Panorama Pleven Epic ", which is located on a hilltop. Established in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Siege of Pleven, like the Borodin Panorama in Moscow.
