Ancient Theatre of Trimontium is located in the saddle between two hills Djambaz and Taksim. Built during the imperetor Trajan (early II century), this is one of the best preserved to this day ancient theaters in the world. Visual part (teatronat)is amphitheatrical and is divided into two rank, each consisting of 14 rows of seats carved from marble, divided into sectors by descending to the stage stairs. Both rank are separated by wide horizontal path. Side of the stage rises two-storey building called the skene, with side wings. Found exquisite inscriptions and statues that are now included in the architecture of the building. The ancient theater was able to accommodate 5 to 7 thousand spectators. Much of the building was destroyed at the end of IV century of fire or earthquake, then the other 20 of 28 series of amphitheater teatron, skeneto collapsed to the ground, however, through extensive archaeological research has been successful restoration. Hosts many cultural events such as the Verdi Festival and the International Folklore Festival. Students and pensioners price for entrance is 1lv for children under 8 years old and disabled people is free. Talk of the Bulgarian costs 15 Euro, but in English, French or German 30lv.
