Bulgarian Orthodox monastery located near the border with Serbia. It is located below the peak Chernoglav in Western Fore and played an important role in the history of Bulgaria . Nowadays Rakovitsa monastery "St. Trinity " is a monument of culture. It is a permanent and a complex of two churches , residential and commercial buildings . Church is as it was at its founding in X century it is of the " inscribed cross " and a cross with a high dome of six drum wall and outbuildings in the early XIX century narthex. In 1825 the church was painted , and in 1979 it valuable frescoes were restored . The rest of the monastery was destroyed several times during the Ottoman rule , and the last time the monastery was looted in the early XIX century, during the rebellion led by Osman Pazvantoglu .
In 1848 the monastery "St. Trinity " found the first secular school in northwestern Bulgaria . Cloister became an important center of the national liberation struggle of the Bulgarian people. That is where the leaders of the People's Liberation Organization of Kula , Vidin , Belogradchik and Lom decide Vidin Uprising in 1850 - which is among the most popular during the Ottoman rule , as well as the uprising in 1856 after the Liberation in memory of those killed in the uprising , has built a new church attached to the west side high belfry.

Rakovitsa monastery "St. Trinity " does not offer accommodation and food. The monastery can be reached on foot in about 40 minutes. From the cloister leads to the town of Vidin ( about 49 km) on a secondary road to the northeast and to the town of Belogradchik ( about 34 km) - a third class road to the southeast.
The church of the monastery is holiday of Pentecost.
