Route Vejen hut - Vejen peak

Vezhen peak ( 2198 m above sea level) is one of the symbols of the Balkan Mountains , visited both in summer and in winter. One of the most convenient starting points to climb to the top hut is located in the northern foothills at 1650 meters. "Vejen" is located in the Tsarichina in beautiful Zlatishko - Teteven.

The easiest way to the hut is reached by a five -kilometer road from the village Ribaritza ( Republic municipality , province Lovech) , then goes on the road with crushed stone ( 12 km ) . It leads to several hiking trails : from Ribaritza in Tsarichina hill ( 4:00 ) from Koprivshtitza ( in Vartopa ; 6:30 ) from Rozino ( Municipality Karlovo, District Plovdiv 6:30 ) Klisura ( 7:00 ) .

We offer three options for a transition from the hut "Vejen" the eponymous peak. Displacement between the lowest and highest point of the route is approximately 600 meters. The climb starts from the building of the hut , after which the route runs south- east , following the broad easily recognizable and well marked path. The route passes through forest, gradually gaining altitude after crossing the steep meadow and again enters the venerable trees.

At this point the trail that leads to the hut " Benkovsky" and the route continues to climb the southeast , describing coils on the steep slope just before leaving the forest branches .

The first option for climbing Vejen is left path , which is known as the stone or Klisurski time . It shortcuts the steep northwestern slopes of the southeast, just below the springs of Bolovandzhika . Then the road climbs to the saddle sloping stone gate ( between the peaks of Kamenica Vejen East and West) , whence it follows the ridge marking the west.

The second option is to go down the right path , which carries traverse through a wide arc below the steep slopes of the northwestern Vejen . It gradually climbs through the area Kasadzhika and reached the western part of the vast plateau ridge where also follows the marking.

Unlike the aforementioned embodiments , which can be used only in summer, because they avalanche , the third path is known as vividly Winter road . It follows the ridge , moving due south , and wedge between the first two routes . It should be borne in mind that at times the trail is lost among the high meadows, as it is not clearly defined . This route annotate large ridge plateau from which Vezhen peak is located about a mile southeast .
