(Ledenoto) Glacial Lake is a lake of glacial origin located in the Rila mountain, at the foot of the northern part of Mount Musala (2925 m) . Located at 2,700 meters above sea level and is the highest lake in the Rila mountain. It also ranks second as the highest lake in the Balkans after the above Polejansko lake in Pirin Mountain. Due to its location often even in summer the upper layer of its surface is covered with a thin layer of ice . Due to the harsh conditions of their high altitude , the lake has been studied in detail only in 2009. Then a team of Plovdiv diving club " Neptune " reach the deepest point of the lake - 16 m .
